Dreaming of You

I dream of you and smile to myself,
put visions of our future up on a shelf,
as I patiently wait for you to come around and reach for my hand before I drown,
in a sea of sadness and lonely tears,
wondering if you'll be there to calm my fears.
I sit and wait for you to want to be one...
One home, one bed and separate lives none,
You holding me tight as I lay on your chest,
me prancing to music in our little nest.
You gazing adoringly at my stupid face as I finally learn the lyrics to Leather and Lace...
I kiss you goodbye as you go to work,
getting to play dress up for you is one of many perks...
to anxiously awaiting your arrival,
your presence here is detrimental to my survival.
I bathe you in kisses from head to toe and tie up the day's stresses in a pretty bow,
put them away with a lock and key as I do my best to get you to see,
that I only want to make you feel loved and whole but you must do your part and play your role,
before it takes a toll on my untethered soul.
I dream of you and smile to myself and look back at the magic that was born on October twelfth...
